Alicia and Shaela discuss ideologies surrounding using both Black and Indigenous individuals as mascots, and how this creates a easily digestible version of various cultures that fits into the White norm. We also discuss how in our point of view these caricatures do more harm than good, using Aunt Jemima and the Lakefield Chiefs as examples.
