In an additional ReFrame review, Arthur's most prolific film critic Evan Robins discusses a documentary she had no desire to watch, but in spite of everything, enjoyed.
Spending for Peterborough Transit will remain at 2022 levels until Council receives a report on transit in March following a motion which passed 9-2 on January 17th. The motion was passed despite warnings from City Staff that the move would result in a reduction in service and likely cost some workers and drivers their jobs.
Arthur's overzealous cinevangelist Evan Robins turns her gaze towards Peterborough's ReFrame film festival with a review of the documentary Riotsville, USA
Rumours of Alfred's death have been greatly exaggerated, as the current insert bears witness to. This horrible little paper, bred in the deepest pits of contempt for ingrained authority, bootlickers, and patsies of all description is the satirical (and deeply stupid) younger brother of Arthur. Be warned: This paper has no redeeming qualities.
With Issue Seven, Arthur's 57th Volume goes out with a proverbial bang. Having survived a malicious libel and defunding campaign wrought by Trent's best and brightest, Arthur is assured another year (at least) of funding. Beyond the top-notch reporting you've come to love and expect, the paper and its contributors come back swinging with "Alfred" - an insert which is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 or who get offended by things they read.
Issue 3 arrives just in time for the holidays - when exam stress is at a peak and snow blankets the city making it even less pedestrian friendly than usual. As City Council weighs the relative worth of a human life, they're also faced with student demands for better transit. In the letters section, international students are sick of sexy bingos and demand action while a famous scientist writes about the lack of resources for STEM students in labs and libraries at Trent. Also, the debuts of new columns "Dear David" and "Cinevangelism." All this and more in the December Arthur!
Episode 5 is here! MP Michelle Ferreri's Twitter account got HACKED! ONDP Leader Marit Stiles paid Peterborough a visit. There was another LEAK in the CREEK. The Theatre on King didn't get funded. And we finally found time for DRAMMMA!
