Madison Marvin reports on the Trent University Chinese Student Association's rise from the ashes of the pandemic and how they're filling a social and representational gap for Chinese students around campus through cultural events and movie nights.
Head Journalist, Irene Suvillaga, talks to Adam Tairo and James Mitchell of the Peterborough-based punk-rock band, The Mickies. This is the second instalment of the "Meet the Locals" series which seeks to shine a light on local figures who are involved in Peterborough's arts and culture scene.
Waves, the latest poetry collection by former Arthur editor PJ Thomas, is a study in mental health and poetry. Journalist Owen Harrison attends Thomas' book launch and interviews the poet herself.
Rumours of Alfred's death have been greatly exaggerated, as the current insert bears witness to. This horrible little paper, bred in the deepest pits of contempt for ingrained authority, bootlickers, and patsies of all description is the satirical (and deeply stupid) younger brother of Arthur. Be warned: This paper has no redeeming qualities.
With Issue Seven, Arthur's 57th Volume goes out with a proverbial bang. Having survived a malicious libel and defunding campaign wrought by Trent's best and brightest, Arthur is assured another year (at least) of funding. Beyond the top-notch reporting you've come to love and expect, the paper and its contributors come back swinging with "Alfred" - an insert which is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 or who get offended by things they read.
Arthur is back for 2023! This month's issue contains an insert of reviews of films playing at this year's ReFrame Film Festival, coverage of local news events and City Council decisions, some hot takes on local thrift stores, and the return of treasured columns Dear David and Cinevangelism. Finally, Arthur's chronically unstable younger sibling TED is back in print. Beware, but enjoy.
We're back at it again like clockwork for Episode 2 of the Peterborough Politics Podcast. This week we delved into the latest city council meeting, specifically the deferral to add stronger language surrounding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to the community safety and well-being plan and exciting Waste Management changes.
