Hi! My name is Emi Habel (she/her) and I’m a Senior Journalist at The Arthur. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to live alongside, learn from, and write on the traditional Land of the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg, and learn from BIPOC whose knowledge and contributions have shaped the places we now know as Nogojiwanong-Peterborough and Trent University.

I’m a student at Trent in the Sustainable Agriculture & the Food Systems program with my Service Dog and best friend, Winnie! When we’re not working or studying, we can usually be found playing the Sims 4 or knitting (me, not Winnie). My articles and advocacy centre around dismantling the intersectional injustices experienced by the student population and beyond, like food insecurity, gender discrimination (TERFS not welcomed), racism (and the role that non-racialized people like myself have in contributing to or against them), ableism, and more. I also have a passion for making access to resources easier so that more students know about the supports available to us and have the information to choose the best for them.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

In a family-friendly documentary about the Black food justice movement, “Follow the Drinking Gourd” discusses the racism and trauma faced by African-American farmers as a result of slavery and features what they are doing to overcome it as a community in Oakland, California.
Icy Wheelchair Ramps and the Ableist Culture at Trent
In this article, Emi Habel addresses the lack of disability awareness and accessibility in post-secondary institutions. While Trent promises each and every student the same educational experience, many students feel their accessibility needs have not been met.
