Community Race Relations Launches BIPOC Peer Support Program

The Community Race Relations Committee (CRRC) invites community members to take part in our BIPOC Peer Support Program. Our peer support group is a safe space for racialized folk who also identify as Queer, trans, non-binary, and/or women to meet, chat, and give/receive support on intersectional issues. Sessions will be led by two facilitators who have lived experience as BIPOC individuals who also experience gender/sexual marginalization. The facilitators will lead the group through a combination of discussion prompts and activities.

For our Fall/Winter 2023 semester, sessions will run from the week of November 13th to the week of December 18th (total of 6 sessions). We will be running sessions at two separate locations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at Sadleir House and the Peterborough YMCA respectively. Participants have the option to select either the Sadleir House sessions or the YMCA sessions to attend. You can find our session schedule here.

Additionally, the YMCA is generously offering free passes to their facilities for 20 peer support participants on a first come first serve basis. Passes are valid for the duration of the program (November 15th, 2023 - December 20th, 2023). Attendees who wish to obtain a pass will be required to go to the YMCA membership desk and let them know they are participants of the peer support program. Please remember to bring a photo ID.

This group is a BIPOC closed space. Therefore, you must identify as BIPOC in order to participate in this program. Additionally, since this group focuses on the intersectionalities of gender/sexuality and race, you must also identify as one or more of the following: Queer, trans, non-binary, and/or a woman.
If you would like to sign up for our peer support group, please fill out the registration form here.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

"Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system."
